Most of Texoma remained chilly today as a cold front moved through the area, and continues to slowly advance south tonight; the front currently lies near Temple to just west of Tyler. Behind the front temperatures are in the 30's in parts of Oklahoma, to the 40's and 50's in north Texas. The cold front advanced further south than the models were showing which will play a major role in tomorrow's forecast. This is the outlook, from earlier today, for tomorrow's severe weather potential from the Storm Prediction Center, keep in mind this will likely change due to the further southward placement of the front.
The front will slowly begin to stall tonight and eventually lift to the north tomorrow as an upper level system moves east. The front should only lift north by two or three rows of counties, likely keeping the highest chance for severe weather near and south of the Metroplex. South of the front all modes of severe weather are possible while to the north elevated storms with large hail are likely. This is where I believe the highest threat for severe weather will be tomorrow. Keep in mind this could change depending on the front's position, and I will keep you updated on any changes tomorrow.
Temps will vary as well, north of the Red River expect high's in the upper 40's to lower 50's while south of I-20 will likely be in the 70's. Heavy rainfall will become an issue tomorrow and some flooding is a possibility. Parts of north Texas and southern Oklahoma have already picked up over 1.00" of rainfall tonight. The heaviest rainfall should be in southeastern Oklahoma and northeastern Texas where an additional 2.5"+ is possible.
I will have an update on the severe weather potential tomorrow morning. Texoma continues to be in an active pattern with systems impacting the region every 3-5 days. Colder weather still appears possible shortly after Thanksgiving into December.
