Today will feature cloudy and cool conditions. Rain chances will increase this evening and continue into Tuesday. Locations south of the Red River will see heavy rainfall, with some locations receiving 2"+ by Tuesday afternoon. Here's a graphic from the HPC showing how much rainfall Texoma could receive.
This rainfall will be caused by a strong upper level low which should track along I-20. The track will be very important because some snowfall could mix in with the rain for locations underneath the low. Several areas are currently under winter storm watches and winter storm warnings, to our west; those locations could easily pick up 5-7" of snowfall. In Texoma, I think locations west of I-35 could see a brief changeover to snowfall with no accumulations due to the warm surface temperatures. Another cold front will blow through Texoma late next week, as this happens another southern storm needs to be watched because the cold air will be in place. Texoma Weather will have a more detailed discussion this evening.
